ZAL's name is derived from our Kuwaiti heritage.
It's a simple traditional name that stands for "carpets/rugs" in Kuwaiti dialect, originating from the Farsi word "Zouliya" meaning "Carpet".
Inspired by Souq Al Zal and Al Bishout that enfolded our first shop where our late grandfather sold the very first carpet. In old Kuwait, people had a close relationship with the carpet — they gathered around it and interacted closely with it.

Today we are honored to be the official distributor of more than 30 brands across Europe, U.S., and Asia. After over 3 decades of experience in the carpet industry, ZAL was born as an extension of Bukhamseen Carpets, which has existed in the market for over 28 years.
ZAL is a hybrid between past and present, fast and slow, a meeting between machine-made and handmade. We aim to cater to a younger generation while maintaining the art of craftsmanship and the role of artisans in this craft.
